VICKI SHER
Biography
VICKI SHER, 1966-
Born in Washington D.C. in 1966, Vicki Sher received her BFA from Cornel University in New York, and her MFA from the University of Iowa.
Sher explores human behaviour through her works on canvas, exploring relations between natural forms through vibrant colours that search for a notion of hope and harmony that exist in Nature.
Considering current socio-political trends and tragedies, Sher tends towards the positive in her quest to uplift herself, and simultaneously share the experience with others.
She has received Fellowship Awards from the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire and from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and has participated in numerous art fairs including VOLTA Basel, NADA and PULSE.
Sher is not as well-known in Europe as she is in the United States, where her works have been selected by the British designer Paul Smith to be exhibited in his SoHo boutique in New York City.
